Since it’s Wedding Wednesday and I’m in the mood for some luscious dessert, I decided to write about wedding cake today.
I went on a hunt for a wedding cake that can stand on its own and came across the wedding cake of Maya Hansen, Fashion Designer of L’Oreal. Of course, we all would expect this cake to be a fabulous one, but I read the into it a little more and thought that the “inspirations” behind her wedding cake were cute ones. Being in the fashion industry, she had her baker, Patricia Arribalzaga, of Cakes Haute Couture, design several small cakes as inspiration to what her wedding cake might be. These are the suggestions she came up with, and she did a fabulous job!
She chose the one that I would have chosen too, a cake to match her wedding gown. White satin look with black pearls and lace details. I love how it's sitting on a dainty, yet elegant stand to not take away from the cake itself. The flower on top matched the one she wore in her hair.
But, what she did that was a little different, that we don't see to often, was have small cakes on the guests’ tables, as well as one for herself and the groom. Once again, cake meets fashion and these didn’t disappoint!
