Grooms Awaiting

What’s the most anticipated moment of the wedding ceremony? For most people, it’s the moment when the doors open and the bride begins to make her descent down the aisle. For some of us, including myself, when the doors open up, I look toward the groom instead of the bride.

We all know she’s going to be a beautiful bride; this is the day she’s been dreaming of for so long. But, seeing the look of anticipation, joy, and love on the groom’s face as she makes her way toward him is priceless, especially when it’s captured on film! Today, I'm sharing a few of my favorite moments of grooms awaiting their brides. I'm sure some of them will tug at your heart strings too. Enjoy!

Groom's Neckties & Ring Pins

Since I was a little girl, I've had a thing about neckties. My grandfather used to take me to Sears to help him pick out the ties that would go with the suits he'd wear to church on Sunday.  I fell in love with the 100% silk, the beautiful patterns, and the way they complimented the various suits he'd wear. Today, I love a well dressed man and I especially love a dapper groom and the way he chooses to showcase his style in the tie that he chooses to wear on his wedding day.  Today, I've rounded up a few of my favorite and most unique ties, from the way the knot is tied, to the ring pin, for your wedding day inspiration.

Football Wedding Inspiration

It's still the height of wedding season and football season has just begun.  Some grooms frown upon wedding dates during football season, especially weddings on Sunday!  When I consult with my brides, I always like to get the story of who they are as a couple as well as individually. It's my job to incorporate both of them into their wedding.  If football is his thing, then it's up to me to figure out a way to incorporate his passion into the wedding too. Whether it's a football themed wedding or the incorporation of a football, the groom's personality should be included.  Be it the engagement pictures, groom's cake, centerpieces, cocktail dessert, or a cute wedding party photo. For today's Men's Monday post, I've put together an inspiration board that will give you a few ideas on including the groom in your wedding during football season. They're small details that will include him but not overshadow the bride!

Groomsmen and Their Shoes

I always love when a part of the wedding reflects the groom, even if it's a small part.  One of the things that is still popular amongst grooms and his groomsmen are matching sneakers and socks. Grooms don't always like to be in a tuxedo and are always looking for a way to stay comfortable and sneakers allow them to do that.  I think they also show off their personality and offer a little bit of style to the tuxedo, with some additional color and patterns.  I also find the shoe shots to be a great photo opp and a great representation of the friendship amongst the groomsmen.  I've chosen my favorite ten.  Enjoy! Unique Groomsmen Gifts

When planning a wedding, there a always a lot of things to consider.  When it comes to the bridal party gifts, they're often forgotten about or leave something to the imagination.  Choosing gifts for bridesmaids tend to be a lot easier to select than gifts for groomsmen, which are typically flasks or socks that coordinate with the color scheme of the wedding.  Today, I've gathered some ideas that may inspire you when looking for a unique and different kind of gift for your the groomsmen in your wedding. Honestly, there's nothing wrong with getting a flask for your groomsmen. Men happen to love them!  How about getting a flask that has a unique quality about it or one that fall in line with the current trend?

Who doesn't like a well groomed man or groomsman?  If he needs to bee nicely shaven or dressed appropriately, he'll surely appreciate a nicely packaged modern or vintage style shaving kit or tie to wear to your wedding day or any special occasion.

Lastly, you can never go wrong with his hobbies or what he loves to do.  Does he like to grill, hunt, or golf?  Is he a techie into gadgets?  Is he a techie that loves a cold beer every once in a while? How about a phone case that's a beer opener?  Buying a groomsmen gift can be a challenge, but only if you let it.

Boutonnieres Don't Always Have To Be Flowers

Many weddings are filled with beautiful flowers.  However, there are times when flowers just aren't an option, due to allergies or budgetary reasons.  If this is the case, there is a likely chance that the groom's boutonnieres will be non-floral.  This is a great opportunity to incorporate more of the decor into the groom's boutonniere, such as a the bride's bouquet, cotton, feathers or berries. You could also incorporate his personality, such as his favorite sport, hobby, musical instrument, or his love of watches!  For today's Men's Monday post, I've gathered some of my favorite non-floral Pinterest pins for your wedding and groom's inspiration.  Enjoy!

Grooms Can Wear Hats Too!

When it comes to the wedding, we're used to seeing the bride wear a veil; long ones, short ones, cathedral length ones, birdcage ones, or sometimes none at all.  What we aren't used to seeing, however, is the groom adorning headwear of his own.  Because I'm a planner that feels that every wedding should reflect the styles and personalities of the couples, I love when couples choose to do something that's completely outside of the norm, unexpected, and totally them, and throw tradition out the window.  Today, for this Men's Monday post, I wanted to show groom's looking fashionable in their hats, while representing their own style on their wedding day.  I hope you enjoy!
